About Beacon

I'm Damien

I've been running Google Ads since 2015. Most of my clients have been with me for years.

I help small businesses stay afloat and grow.

That's what I told my daughter when she asked what I actually do. It's the simplest answer I've got.

Where this started

In 2015, my wife and I got made redundant a month before our first child was born.

I was offered a good job in Belfast. But I knew if I took it, I'd be gone from the house before the kids woke up and back after they were in bed. I wanted to have breakfast with my kids.

So we started an online business instead. Maternity clothes – my wife's idea. I built the website and ran the ads.

We didn't have the budgets of the big companies. Everything we did had to be sharper, smarter, because we couldn't outspend anyone. We built it to the number one ranking site in our market.

After years of that, I realised what I was actually good at was the marketing. That's where Beacon came from.

The data difference

Most agencies run your ads and send you a report. We do that too – but we also look at everything underneath. Your tracking, your analytics, your conversion data.

Most businesses – and honestly, most agencies – are making decisions based on data that isn't accurate. Duplicate conversions, broken tracking, numbers that look good but don't mean anything.

We fix that first. Before we touch a campaign, we make sure you can trust the numbers. Then every decision from that point is based on what's actually happening, not what Google says is happening.

Why small businesses

Because we were one.

We've been that company – not knowing what to do, having people take advantage. I know what it feels like to spend money you can't afford on someone who doesn't really care.

I see it all the time. Big agencies take on small businesses but treat them as an afterthought. Not enough budget to be interesting. Not enough data to be worth their senior people's attention. The small business pays monthly and gets ignored.

I don't think we've ever lost a client who came to us from a big agency. Once they get actual attention, they don't go back.

Why clients stay

They know I genuinely care.

When something goes wrong – and things do go wrong – I'm the one who tells them first. It keeps me up at night.

That's not a sales line. It's just how I'm built. If your campaigns aren't working, I can't sleep until I know why.

Most of my clients have been with me for years. That only happens when there's trust.

The setup

I work from Northern Ireland with clients across the UK and Ireland. My wife handles Facebook ads, my youngest daughter helps with implementation.

No big agency overhead. No layers between you and the person doing the work.
